Natural snow is more fun

In Trafoi, skiing is child's play

In Trafoi, skiing is practically part and parcel of raising children: the young skiers of tomorrow practice here today. Children in Trafoi begin very early, as did skiing legend Gustav Thöni, who stepped into ski boots at a young age. The mountains, with a variety of different slopes, many sunny spots and cottony soft snow are ideally suited for kids. Here, little talents are quickly discovered. The bunny slope and beginner’s lift are located right outside of the hotel. While your children follow their teacher’s instructions, you can enjoy the sunshine on the large terrace with views of Mount Ortler. Manageable slopes, professional ski schools and rustic ski huts make your holiday in Trafoi an adventure for the whole family – all nestled amidst a snow-blanketed landscape right out of a fairytale. These views make skiing double the fun!

Solda – a ski area for all levels

Solda is the Mecca of Alpine skiing: here you’ll find 40 km of slopes, ranging from easy to challenging, situated at 1,900 to 3,250 meters above sea level. King Ortler towers over this impressive scene, visible from afar. Thanks to its beloved traditions, Solda has remained a friendly village. Here in Reinhold Messner’s second home you’ll simply find everything: fun park, perfectly groomed slopes and romantic lodges. The sports options range from skiing to snowboarding and from ski mountaineering to snowshoeing and ice climbing. Here, long queues in front of the ski lifts are an unusual sight: in fact, the world’s largest aerial cableway (max 440 persons on the cable) whisks you up to the fascinating world of the three-thousanders.

Ortler Ski Arena – wedeln turns at 3,000 meters

Kissed by the sun with South Tyrol’s highest mountains as a backdrop and guaranteed snow from November to May: Ortler Ski Arena, a consortium of 15 ski areas, promises skiing fun between alpine pastures (Trafoi) and palm trees (Merano) within a radius of 50 kilometers. With just one pass you can choose from amongst 300 kilometers of first-class slopes, immersed in the richly diverse landscape of the Venosta/Vinschgau Valley.
