White temptation in summer
Swimming weather? No, skiing weather!
Even when the mercury is rising throughout the rest of South Tyrol, there’s eternal cold at Stelvio/Stilfserjoch Ski Area. Situated between 2,760 and 3,450 meters above sea level, here the snow stays all year round. Stubborn, yes – but welcoming for those who don’t want to forego fun on the slopes just because it’s summer. From May to November, skiers enjoy 30 km of slopes here, at Europe’s largest summer ski area: ten lifts carry diehard skiers up to their dream runs.
Summer snow goes for cross-country skiers, too. Twelve kilometers of trails give winter sports enthusiasts plenty of room for weightless gliding. Passionate skiers will find the views as expansive as they are beautiful: the panorama of the Stelvio/Stilfserjoch Pass looks like you can reach out and touch it. Eternal glaciers dance with the bright summer sun. What a sight!
