Ambience - Alpine elegance
The
interior design combines traditional with modern elements in perfect harmony. In the foyer area stone and wood combine to form a felicitous ensemble. The red, modern lounge immediately catches the eye, with the old wooden ceiling beams creating a contrast. Nothing seems left to chance. Even the old rustic-style living room wall adorned with old photographs and valuable paintings featuring legends surrounding the Ortler fits in with this setting.
Tradition and modernity meld harmoniously, pleasing the eye and creating a snug ambience to relax and unwind in, whether in front of the open fire place or at the ‘
Ice Bar’.
Savour both the
superb cuisine and the spectacular view in the dining hall. An
extensive panorama window stretches the length of the hall providing a stunning view of the majestic Ortler which seems so close you could reach out and touch it. The dining hall in general is characterised by plenty of space to relax and feel at ease in, while the ceiling with its exposed pale pine beams appears light and weightless. In contrast the three candelabrums made of antler which illuminate the entire room seem almost weighty, a harmonious clash of styles pleasing to the eye. They were created by the South Tyrolean artist Kurt Stecher and symbolise trophies of nature.
Their counterparts are the gleaming sports trophies: three World Cup trophies testify to Gustav Thöni’s triumphant prowess on the world’s downhill ski runs, while a small gallery recounts more about the life of the ski ace. This personal treasure chamber contains unique collector’s items from the world of Alpine sports, from the first hand-carved skis to numerous medals.
