Summer skiing - Summertime, and the skiing is easy
Beach weather? Well, yes, but first a few
ski descents on the glacier. While sultry weather reigns supreme in the central valleys, the snow remains through the summer at altitudes between
2,760 and 3,450 metres in the Stilfser Joch ski resort. In fact this is Europe’s largest summer ski resort, with around
30 kilometres of runs served ten lift systems, open from May to November.
Cross-country skiers can also keep up their stamina through the summer months along 12 kilometres of trail at an altitude of 3,000 metres surrounded by spectacular high mountain scenery and summer sun is especially intense at such altitudes.
